Sometimes a photograph is enough... and other times it asks to be something more than a photograph. I love the way this mother embraces her sweet baby. In the painting I like how everything encompases them together.
Often I don't know what the final painting is going to look like, it takes on a life of it's own, until everything comes together.
This is an example of the progress of a portrait... from photograph to one of a kind art piece.
